Built high compression engine with Boost,VSC?
Ok with all that i have been doing lately, I have been thinking about doing this for awhile. I know alot of you build your engines with lower compression and with higher boost levels. I am wanting to go no higher then 10psi, i have a goal of 300whp just so thats stated also. A friend of mine here, infact he is my hondata tuner is building a 11:1 compression motor with a JRSC and i been think of doing the same but with a Vortech. I only mean by high compression basicly the stock 10.2:1 compression but with better internals ie forged pistons and better rods. Since its know that stock pistons at higher psi levels tend to fail either ringlands or what ever. I am wanting to upgrade to a piston that can still handle the boost like i said no more then 10psi and connected to better rods. What are you guys options; pros cons, yeah or nay. I sure most are going to say why and just go turbo and build the motor but i like my Vortech SC. Besides the problems i had with a burnt valve i think the motor has been pretty reliable and so has the Vortech. Yeah i know belts are a bitch but hell it only takes me 10minutes at most if i have to change it. Also do you think sleeving the block is nessesary, or would the stock cylinders hold up? I have the tuning covered already so thats no issue. Only last thing what pistons and rods should i use? Other questions might come up but for now thats it. Thanks
