Default built h22 boost creep problems

I'm using a ramhorn turbo manidold with a gt40 turbo with 44mm tial wastegate.
the problem that i have is that it's building excesive boost, the spring on the wastegate i'ts small red, If i run wastegate without the boost controller it goes up to 14 to 15 psi and if i connect the wastegate to the boost controller it jumps up to 17 psi with the controller closed.
i've checked all the vacumm hoses for cracks or anything like that verything seems to be fine, the only thing left to replace it's the wastegate, maybe it's a bad wastegate. need some help.

Similar problem w H22. remounted boost control @'Y' angle vs 'T' angle. Used larger Tial 44, changed to a 12 lb. spring. Problem cleared up but don't know which cured it. Also read of some who had probs w pinhole leaks in intercoolers.

I just a brand new tial 44mm wastegate and It still overboosting to like 16psi with small red spring that is supposed to be for 5 pounds. The new wastegate came with large red and a small red spring inside so I took the large spring just used the small spring. would it help if I used the large spring and small spring together.

who manufactured the ramhorn? could be an issue with wastegate placement or manifold construction. also consider the contributing factor that your running a very large turbo (gt40) trying to push very low boost. most ramhorns (varies by manufacturer, what chassis it has to fit in, etc) place the gate so that it is roughly a 90 degree turn out of the normal path of flow through the manifold... which is not going to help exhaust gas's want to exit that route.

simply the single 44mm in that configuration may not be able to keep up.

You can at least type bump or help instead of ",".

Your question has already been answered. Unless you post pictures of the manifold or set-up there's little to no other help you're going to receive. You may also want to run a twin wastegate set-up. But for 40r territory the 44mm should do fine. You may also want to look into a larger wastegate such as the tial 60mm.
