ok so i want to build a turbo kit and get the parts individually cuz the bolt on kits are really expensive, but i dont know where to start. i have done research and searched around but i dont know much about turbos or anything forced induction. i dont know which parts are good quality or which brands go best with the other. i dont want to be runnin more that 8psi becuase this is my daily driver. any help with prices, brands, types, websites would help ALOT thanks

EDIT: for a stock 01 GSR, budget around 1500 - 2000, but the cheaper the better

custom kit, piecing it together is your only bet for under 2k. Plus it's a good way to get the parts you want....

maybe the most junkyard setup can be had for that budget. but honestly a decent turbo setup is gonna run you 3-4k. the turbo hardware itself may not be too much. but you must figure in injectors, fuel pump, engine management and all that good stuff as well. a pump, injectors, ems and conversion harness, and a tune alone will probably run around 1k or more so there is half your 2k budget right there.

research and do it right the first time. ps brands like garrett, precision, and tial come to mind just to name a few. GL

actually you can pretty easily do a turbo kit for 2000, tune included, i think. Im working on it now, and plan on not spending much more than 1500. Ive got a couple ebay parts, and mostly used parts from the classifieds here on hondamarketplace. just make a list of everything youll need, including a tune, and start budgeting prices. then, just wait for the deals. A street tune will only runyou a couple hundred bucks, plus another couple hundred for a chipped ecu and conversion harness. Just keep doing lots of searching, youll figure it out

With your budget you might want to source the parts you need from reputable forum members or sit out another year and save enough to get a good turbo kit, preferbly a new kit not someones old beaten used parts.Cheap is not allways good.Good luck
