how do i replace the crank bearings?

is that it there is no certain bearings i need, or certain clearance. what size bearing for stock ls crank? and is there a certain way to put them in? how bout the break in for bearings/???

If your asking this question I don't think you should be replacing bearings. but if you must ,YouTube should have some good videos or pick up a haines manual.

well would you recomend replacing them i am going for 450 to 500hp ... so what u sayin is i can just put those old ones in?????

MAKE SURE YOUR OIL HOLES LINE UP. There is a top bearing and a bottom bearing. If you are a newbie to engine building make sure they line up.

First pic no oil hole in the main Cap



Second pic oil holes in the block to oil the crank

thanks man.. can i use a gsr girdle on a ls block? i have a girdle lying around would it be better to use the girdle or just the stock ls caps?

I would use the stock ls caps you cant take caps from one engine and place them on another engine dont work that way. From the Honda factory the caps are machined to match the block. I would not listen to people telling you not to do it yourself. Thats the only way i would do it .If you have never spun a bearing on your crank, order standard size acl bearings then use plastic gauge to size the bearings. Keep posting and asking questions.

Those are race bearings they have .001 extra clearance
