Which build would you choose?
Ive decided not to build my own itr motor, ive decided to sell it and replace it with something else that is built.
Which would you choose?
AEBS gsr bored to 84mm (oringed)
84mm Ross pistons (9.1 compression)
Pauter Rods
Cosmetic head gasket
Basically a complete bottom end, not assembled, just needs bearings
or
Dart 84.5m standard height block (still not honed or cleaned out)
full race rods
84.5mm Cp pistons (9.1 compression)
GE head gasket
ill have to use everything off my itr motor now. (which means ill have less to sell)
The dart motor with what is listed comes out to be 250-300 dollars cheaper as it sits, but the dart motor isnt honed or cleaned yet..
Which would you choose?
Im leaning hard core toward the dart..

dart block all the way... sounds pretty solid
but it also sounds like the other setup would be running sooner, I still say dart it...

I just bought a
2000 itr head, with mild port and polish and 3 valve angle job
Supertech valves
Supertech valvesprings
Supertech Ti retainers..
Its soo clean
itll go on the dart nicely
When i get the stuff in, im gonna sell my stock itr head, and my itr block
wow the stress is almost over , now i gotta worry about getting it paided off

Re: (Mpir3)
if it were me, and i just built an h22 and couldnt be happier....
id send a block to benson via earl. grab some CP's from earl while you are there. and run full-race rods (or pauter if u really wanna spend the extra money for no reason ) and you'd have just about the nicest built motor u could buy
oh yeah, for sure go w/ oem bearings and all new seals, water and oil pump

yes i am going with all the new stuff..
i was gonna send my motor to benson, but its better for me not to, reason is i can sell my stuff and get more back, then if i would build it.

According to Paulus Lee, the mastermind behind AEBS, the Dart blocks are not cast in a manner that would make them as strong as a sleeved factory honda block.

thats interesting what the AEBS guy has to say about it... but given where he's comming from, I would believe it more from some someone thats less biased.
anyone know how much heavier a dart block is?

Re: Which build would you choose? (Jordo)
thanks for the info bro... sorry to jack your thread.
damn I was under the impression dart blocks didn't need sleeves, as in it was solid iron or something... thats why I asked about the weight. it doesnt seem as appealing to me now, I'll have to research...
