I recently broke my axle halfshaft, and replaced it...

Now, I'm noticing that on acceleration, the car doesn't seem as smooth..
feels like the whole front is vibrating..

Question is do I need to get my wheels aligned after I change out axles?

I know people changed broken axles at the track, but does anyone bother
to get them aligned afterwards?

 

Nope...its the new axles if your having a vibration problem.

 

nope... we just slap it back and go at it.

 

hmm.. well, when I had it changed.. I had to remove every bolt except the the ball joint on the lower control arm.. (don't ask)...

Would this contribute to a change in alignment?

 

it could its allways good to get it realigned.

 

When I changed my axles I had vibration under torque.. Took the new ones (some I had got from autozone type store, OReillys) back off and guess what. They forgot to pack them with grease. I didnt check them before I put them on.. Talk about pissed. But I replaced them and no more problems.. Good luck to ya

 

Hmm.. I bought spanking new ones. It seemed to me that the outer joint was
rather stiff.. I know it's not supposed to be telescoping, but it was not smooth
when I was bending it. The guy at the shop told me that that was normal..

??
