Default BOV Question - Leaking?

I have a 1g DSM BOV and it whistles alot durring vaccum, not like a psshht sound like when you let off and it relieves the boost, but like a whistle like you would whistle with your mouth but really high pitched. It gets really annoying and i'm thinking maybe it might be leaking boost, my boost gauge hasn't read past 5psi(i've redlined 3rd gear and looked) and i'm supposed to be pushing 10psi, I was thinking maybe it's the crappy boost gauge but it seems to read vaccum fine? What do you guys think, is it supposed to whistle like that? Maybe a new BOV would fix my problem? I need to get the boost leak fixed before I take it in somewhere for tuning so that leaves me this week to order a BOV if I need to.

BTW I don't mean the whistle is it leaking boost, I mean maybe since it's whistling(if its not supposed to) that maybe it's a bad seal inside it somewhere or something like that which might cause it to leak boost when I am getting on it.

The 1gen DSM BOV WILL be open during idle. It was designed as a recirculating BOV.

I had to make mine recirculating to avoid bad idling issues thanks to the MAF sensor.

So that could be the reason my idle is so funky? On cold I idle at like 1500-2000rpm and i'll be sittin there and it fluctuates rapidly between 1000-1500 after a while, and when warm it will idle at 1250 for a while then drop to normal idle of around 750 if i sit there long enough.

Are you using DSM 450cc's and Uberdata/Hondata?

Because they are known to have the fluctuating problem. The newer version of Uberdata has fixed that problem though

No, not likely, since you have a MAP sensor. This is just something to look out for in Nissan/Hyundai/Kia/Mazda and other cars with airflow sensors.

No i am using RC 440cc injectors and Uberdata 1.70, alright then it's probably a tuning problem I guess.
