BOV question?

I have a HKS SS and was wondering if tighten or losing the settings on the BOV affect the performance of the car. Also if I loosen the BOV all the way can I hear the BOV while revving at a stand still?

Too tight = compressor surge
Too loose = boost leak
You just gotta find the right spot.
