ok, when i shift...all i hear is flutter (like a rattle snake). but i dont know what exactly its comeing from...because when i rev the car in neutral the wastegate flutters (why is this???).

i dont know whats wrong. i loosened the screw on the valve so much, now i am loosing vacume at idle.

what the hell is going on!

I don't understand what you are asking... your BOV flutters when you shift? Sounds like it's working correctly...

Your wastegate flutters when you rev the car in neutral? Your wastegate shouldn't move when you are not driving...

What BOV do you have? And, what does it have to do with your wastegate?

i had originally thought that my BOV flutters...now i think that my wastegate is and not my BOV.

so i want to know why my BOV isnt working right, and why my wastegate might flutter.

also...should my BOV be open or shut during idle?

edit: it is a cheap ebay one. nothing name brand.

Wastegates don't flutter. What in the last 12 minutes changed your mind?

Revving the car in neutral can make the BOV make noise... depends on the BOV.

I can't see how loosening your BOV screw can make you loose vacuum at idle though... unless there is something wrong with the BOV.

What kind of wastegate do you have? Which vacuum source do you have it hooked up to?

at first i had it hooked up to one on the intake manifold, and then i tried the source with the valve on it up at the fire wall.

the 2nd one is what i normally have the wastegate hooked up to, but i was trying to test everything out.

the turbo has an internal wastegate. its a garrett T25 normally found on a 300Z

i think i got the BOV fixed just by playing around with it, i will have to drive it alittle more to adjust it. now i just need to find out how to shut up the wastegate.

The wastegate shouldn't make any noise at all. Is the WG exit internal to your exhaust or do you have a separate "dump tube"? If it's internal, the WG should never make noise...even at full boost.

BOV = makes noise when you shift
wastegate = controls boost pressure by rerouting exhaust, not supposed to make noise

Sounds like your BOV is not opening and your hearing the compressor surge that is the only fluttering sound I can think of from the turbo.

im not quite sure what you mean.

but i did get the BOV loose enough to open up when i shift. this made the flutter stop so i am assuming it was actually turbo chatter
