BOV, etc independant source...
Before my CRX (LS w/t3/t4 custom) broke 2 months ago the shop that did my set-up teed everything. The BOV was teed to the Purge-Cut Solenoid(?) on the firewall. It used to hit hard even at 4.5psi. That loud piercing sound of the HKS SS, not the suttle flutter of low boost.
Fast forward. During the two months my car was down I decided to tap my manifold. I wanted each hose to have its own source. All my taps are after the throttle body. One for the purge solenoid, one for boost gauge, one(existing) for boost controller, one for blow-off valve.
Now my blow off is suttle always(5psi). I know it is supposed to be low sound, but I am more worried about function. At idle the BOV is closed. At WOT when I let off it doesn't sound bad like I have read about compressor surge. It just doesn't BOV like it used to....those were the days.
I just don't understand why the difference in sound. Thanks.
