Default Is boring really needed?

If I swap stock pistons with lower comp ones of the same size is it really needed to have the block bored or honed?? I have heard mixed opinions from friends on this but I am still unsure. I know that if I resleeve the block then I would need to have it bored to match, but going stock for stock whaddaya think?

Somtimes you can get away without doing it depending on how worn the cylinders are. Best bet is to be safe and do it. You might be able to just run a glaze breaker through there though if the motor doesn't have many miles on it.

if the cross hatch is still good then honing wont be needed.
