Boosting too much..bad for H22A ??
I was reading on how H22a motors compared to B18c motors and how the gs-r can handle more boost and that the prelude motor cant really handle high amounts of boost. I've heard though that this is all due to the oil pump? I was wondering if the oil pump is upgraded..will it be just as good? Thanks

Re: Boosting too much..bad for H22A ?? (MEGA_BB6_Turbo)
preludes have a lot more problems than just oil pumps - they dont fit right in civics, and they have weird habits, and you have to tune all the timing out of them, they also like to spit chunks, they weigh too much. I just built a 2.2l gsr block with stock honda parts making 650hp (okay pistons made 200cc)

Re: Boosting too much..bad for H22A ?? (D-Man)
I can back this up as I have one and know of one in phoenix that pounds 410 @ the wheels @ 12psi, also a 4th gen vtec, It's all about tuning. I'm going for 300 @ the wheels at 9psi, I think with good tuning I can do it.

an H22A built right will always beat a B18....what's the fastest honda powered by..papadakis's honda..yup a H series,,,what's the fastest N/A honda powered by.. L'Natural..yup a H series...also..other fact on how a H makes a better+stronger turbo motor than a B..its deck is solid..no need to brace it like a B...here's another fact,one of inlinepro's cars...patrick miller, runs 10.44@135mph with a stock H22A with 17lbs of boost!

my h23 vtec boosts 18 pounds and has done so all year long with no problems and still has the stock computer with the timing advanced ahead of the factory setting

Unless you've ever seen the insides of an H22, don't diss it. The motor is strong as ****. You have to tune ANY honda you boost - and a reliable 300fwhp on a stock motor isn't possible with a b-series. Its been done MANY times with the H series.
