Boosting an LS...worth it?
I want this to be extremely fast like up in the 450hp range but not for a little while. Does this engine have enough potential? if i eventually changed the head and went LS/Vtec would it really be worth it? Thanks

i dont think people really understand how fast 450hp is. especially front wheel horse power in a little honda. so many people talking about 400whp these days.
make 200 first, then 300. then go for 400. just dont think horsepower is all u need to be fast.

HAHAH.
I'm at 200 right now, my front suspension has turned into a sloppy puddle of wheel hopping jello.
You can start off with a setup giving you all sorts of power potential, but I'd advise you keep the power low, deal with the problems that crop up, then move to the next power level. These other guys are 100% right.

At one time I wanted 400+ whp, but at only 8 psi there is enough to break the tires loose at legal speeds. Driving around with 400+ on tap is just silly excess that you won't be able to put down at reasonable speeds on street rubber.
BTW my setup will prolly put down 350 whp, but I'm not going to drive around with that 'cause I won't even be able to use it during normal driving around town/traffic.

I was putting out 300 some at the front wheels on my daily driver before I popped the engine. I agree there is really no use for that on the street. Everytime I would get on it I would break the tires loose and have serious tq steer. But when I am done rebuilding my new block I hope to be putting out alot more then 300 at the wheels. So to answer your question yes I think and ls/vtec is worth it.
