It's a great idea. Not the best motor, but it will work.

Don't cheap out on the turbo kit. Going to cost at least $2,000 to piece it together.

He already pointed you to the FAQs.

Just wondering why you don't think it's a good motor to work with?

A B16A is fine. if matched with the right sized turbo, they can be VERY beastly...

Tuning and free flowing will make it a machine. 4 grand proper clutch, trans, studs etc and good kit some slicks. Set a budget

you can't slowly work on the internals.... unless you have a spare block w/ crank you have to pull the motor and do pistons and rods at once.

This isn't a lego set

I agree with both of you, the B16A is a great motor to boost. The compression gives it better out of boost qualities and it makes good power with less boost. It's just not what most people do, that was more my point.

And wantboost kind of nailed it on the lego set. Unless you mean slowly buying the internals and assembling it at once. But you can't put like one new piston on cylinder one. Then next month do another cylinder. Then do a rod here. It's not like replacing your driver seat and saving up for the passenger side.

I think everyone's confused on what I'm Tryin to say. I mean is it possible to boost a stock engine b16. N if so, do i need to do anything else? Then later have internals upgraded. Or is it best to do it all at the same time?

Yep.

Stock B16A is good for 300 HP on a good tune. I'm shooting for 250~280 on mine. Internals (pistons, rods, ect) bump that up considerably. It has been covered though. You can boost your stock B16A, rebuild it's internals later, retune and reboost for more power.

Mmmm. Really depends upon your budget, as there are lots of "kit" choices. Some come with the option of well-matched turbochargers for your needs. Others don't. The cool part is for the good companies that use a T3 or T25 flange for the turbocharger, you can get the turbo from another source, and in many circumstances bolt right up. It all depends upon what you're trying to spend.. Because they don't come with Injectors, Clutch, Flywheel, pumps, or Engine mangement. Plan over $3K for this.

Probably more if you go with a good tuning software and a kit from somewhere. Kits run $2K themselves, S300 is $600, getting someone to tune is $500 (just a rough estimate) and that doesn't include anything he mentioned really. You can go crome and save the $600, but that will buy a new clutch kit. Still have injectors and anything the kit is missing. Wideband, radiator swaps, matching the downpipe to your exhaust, upgraded exhaust, catch can, map sensor, spark plugs, boost controller, boost/oil pressure gauges, traction bar (for downpipe clearance if you need it), converting to OBD1 (if OBD0), the list goes on and on.

Definitely read up, I'll post a decent write up:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/complete-how-turbocharge-your-honda-rep-ing-hypnotik-speed-1263795/

Pretty sure that's from the FAQs. But that's one of my favorite write ups, for the pictures mostly.
