Default BOOSTIN' a 99 Civic Si

i plan on turboing my b16. i've already been peicing together a kit, and i only plan on boosting no mroe then 8 psi, so i was wondering, is it really neccessary to get the larger injectors??? i plan on using a vafc to tune everything, will i be good with the facotry injectors???? if not, whats the most psi u can run b4 upgrading injectors????

everybodys kits used to say 7psi max on stock inj. but who knows. this guy used to sell injectors for about $200 or so. http://www.tunertoys.com got my 440cc precisions from him. if you feel like driving to raleigh, my boy is about to pull out and sell his 440cc rc's hes going bigger.

240cc should be good up to 8psi, btw i suggest u chip your ECU and go uberdata or crome rather than VAFC, you'll get a much better tune...and if it seems like your car is starving for fuel just pull some old injectors off a DSM or get a hold of some rc550s...jspec is right tunertoys is a good site for cheap injectors

I'd take an educated guess at 7-9psi. The Forced Induction forum might know.

Edit: You're on Lejuene?

Oh wait, it's Jeremiah. What's up, man? It's Charles

I'm pretty sure barely they won't be enough...

I think a rule of thumb is that you can go up to 200whp on stock inj.s

Just get bigger injectors, you won't be sorry after you realize ur stocks aren't big enough

From what I've read that sounds about right. I also read that you don't want to be a poineer and try to boost it unmanaged past that unless you like doing engine swaps.

I agree-- just because you CAN do it doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. By the way, why do you only want to boost 8psi? Go big or go home baby boy!

If you dont want to get injectors and a chipped ecu, then dont boost your car, because your just going to end up buying a new motor. Even the greddy kit which boosts something like 6.5 psi comes with injectors.

You will definitely need bigger injectors.

Trust me.

The stock injectors are too small

are you from wisconsin? because thats all that anyone has up there. its always the same setup; DSM injectors, peakboost manifolds, blah blah blah. scratch that. invest in some injectors that will actually be worth your while.

DSM injectors are proven reliable and worked on my setup with no problems for 2 years. Class of 06 is not going to tell me otherwise...

so? what does it matter if you didn't have any problems with them or not... ditch that hack-of-a-job setup, or i'm sorry, injectors and get some sort of REAL fuel manamgenet system: such as Uberdata or hondata?
