Default Boosted TEG Problems

Ive been working on this car for the last 8 months and cant figure out why the car is bogging. At 8psi it runs really good. then when I crank it up to 18-20 psi as soon as the vtec hits it boggs then it takes off. I have no idea what it is, i have been tuning all kinds with the greddy e-01 on the dyno. i have tryed every thing from sensors to the engine harness, ecu's

skunk 3's have too high of lift for turbo setup's. i think that's your problem.

You must be running the turbo cams and not the N/A cams?

This is of the skunk2 website, I know exactlly what i'm buying for my cars.

Stage III: Stage III profiles are designed for purpose-built race engines with high-rpm capabilities only! Upgrading to Skunk2 Racing valvetrain components and extensive engine work is required for the proper functioning of these camshafts. Compression and engine flow must also be significantly increased. Stage III camshafts should be installed and tuned by professional engine builders only! Do not use oversized valves.

Turbo: Turbo profiles are designed for engines with forced induction. Aggressive lift and valve opening/closing motions allow these cams to maximize power with a minimum amount of overlap. Each profile is designed with extensive input from the top racers in the sport compact industry.

What's it look like on the dyno when it bogs? Could be to much timing, fuel or not enough timing. Give more details it will better help. Later Allen

it pulls really good before vtec hits and then when it hits vtec it just lags like there no fuel then give it a second then it pulls mad power to redline.

Yeah, I just re-read and edited my post. What's the A/F look like around that spot? I don't know a lot about the eman, but can you change VTEC activation points? If so try to raise it a few hundred rpm's and see what happens. Depending on your A/F's and timing you may need to play with some setting. I know on my LS setup responded well to timing, if it would sputter up top, throw a little timing and lean the mix it fixed the problem everytime. With my LS/VTEC setup the more timing I would through the smoother things would get, up until a point of course. I would tapper off after HP gains would slow down, but playing with timing more than fuel fixed my sputter spots. I run the AEM and with modified maps, I don't know how the piggy back system will respond, it's more of a trial and error type thing that you and the dyno will have to work out. Later Allen
