I have a 82 mm Benson GSR block with JE pistons and Eagle rods. I was getting my block assembled by a very trusted machine shop. They balanced and polished my crank. They called me and said there were scratches in the journals. So I asked him if he would run it in one of his cars and he said not with the amount of power I want (500-550 whp). So I was wondering how a balanced LS crank and my bearings would hold up to that kind of horsepower. This is my daily driver and I want it to handle the abuse and all the high reving. Would this be a wise choice or should I hold out for a C1 or C5 crank that I can't find? Thanks, Jordan.
They couldnt polish the scratch out? But to answer your question LS/CRV cranks kick ***. 1.8mm longer stroke than GSR/ITR and its lighter too. It wont limit your rev limit.
Make sure you get LS lenth rods and LS rod bearings bc they are different.

dont need the C1 or C5 crank.. just find a better condition LS
I used a crank that had been sittin in a block outside for a while... when i had it checked by the machine shop, they said it was fine and they polished it for me..
just shy of 500whp/340 tq for 15000 miles now at least, no problems at all

the ls will work, i didnt have an ls crank, and already had carrillo's and wasnt buying another set of rods.
i had the same problem, the crank i sent to ERL said wouldnt poilsh out, and the power i wanted to make they didnt recomend a .010 .010 turn down. i found another stock crank gsr crank and making 710whp.
