Boosted BB1 project, need some advice
I've decided to forget about the NA route, since its way too pricey for good gains. My h22 has almost 300,000kms, so first i'm definitely going to get a compression and leak down test to see where the engine is at. If alls okay I wanted to go for a very mild boost set up, something I can run on stock internals basically. Only internals I have now are skunk2 stage 2 cams and crower valvetrain. Any ideas for what turbo to go with? Or anything else I should consider before starting to look for parts?

i don't think those n/a cams are gonna help you for boost. you might want to sell them and use that money for the turbo project.
i had crower stageIIs and sold them when i went turbo

I would run the cams. go with a basic turbo kit, sc61, head studs, fuel pump, injectors, just the basics and have fun with it. low boost should last fine and you can save up money or whatever for a full built or whatever it is you want

exactly, I have had MUCH more luck with all motor cams rather than turbo cams however the specs on them do make a difference but the s2s should be alright for your motor.

lag won't be bad especially with 2.2or more liters behind it... i'm using a sc61 on a 81.5mm gsr ..... my old 85mm ls made full boost by 5k i believe... and turbonetics suck! especially used ones...

I have ran turbonetics turbos on my car, the first was a 60-1 which out of no where came up with alot of shaft play and was replaced with another 60-1 that had bad issues with smoking, I had a sc61 sitting at the shop in the same exhaust flange as I run so I threw it on there and love it.

Alot of money would be wasted on this kit seeing how you already have a s300. I would just piece togather a kit. Turbo, injectors, manifold, downpipe, bov, wg, and fuelpumps can be optained off of ht market place, then you can get ic and piping off of ebay or use a percision ic, there fairly cheap.

Put together your own kit, you will learn and save money... a lot of money. We have pieced together kits for about 1,800 including all major parts and name brand parts.

That, and a large turbo like an SC61 is not at all needed. You can go with a T3/t04e 60 trim, and do a fantastic job with 53lbs/min , than a 65lbs/min 61mm compressor wheel. It's not even necessary.

Thanks for the input guys. If I'm piecing a kit together I guess I should start with deciding what turbo to go with
