Default boosted b20 vtec daily reliability?

I know this has been asked time and time again. its just something many of my friends have been suggesting to change up. I've always built all motor cars so my friends suggested to try something new and do a boosted build finally. the only thing is i only have 1 car at the moment and its my daily driver. if i boost i want to run on 93octane on a sleeved 84mm b20 vtec. also would be going with the peakboost or full race a/c friendly ramhorn manifold. any opinions or suggestions from anyone would be appreciated. oh yeah and the car is a 98 civic hatchback DX. not looking for a crazy amount of power. something reasonable that would be reliable is fine.

you dont know what ur talkin about. PSI is 100% irrelevant without discussing a specific turbo. 6-11 psi on a t25 vs. on a super t70 is a huge power difference, dont give advice about this if ur jus talkin out ur *** an dont know what ur talkin about.

as for the OP, it can be plenty reliable with a good tune and not trying to push more power out of it then it can.

depends on power really, go too high and loose drivability which is no good on a daily driver, my itr b18r turbo is pushing 400whp and that is my daily. drives like a stock itr when off boost, no reason it should be unreliable for daily use if built and tuned right imo.

If the motor is going to be built then it should hold a good amount of power reliably even on 93 octane. I drove my car for 2 years and it was a stock ls vtec making around 330whp. When I got rid of the car the bottom end had over 200k on it! If its built right with a good tune, reliability wont be a problem with under 500hp imo

thanks guys. yeah the motor will be built. i just couldnt decide whether all motor or boost. i guess ill be going for it and trying something new then since i see the man up top ran over 200k miles on his stock lsv on boost. and yeah im definately not going to be driving on rediculous amount of boost on my daily bases. 350whp on a built motor should be more then fun on a daily driver, and im sure that can be achieved at low boost.

the motors usually last no problem, and drive like stock, even at 400+whp you can have a nice responsive setup and have the potential for 30-35+mpg. drivetrain ends up being the weak link at that point. depending on clutch choice and more so how you treat/abuse it you might start going through transmissions or axles.

Ever wonder why i put a range? Its not like i said 12 lbs and thats it. I allowed for the fact that there are differences between turbo sizes and psi. So before jumping on my back....read!

He asked a question and i gave him an answer which is something that you failed at

block guards are worthless IMO. And you cant just slap a turbo on.. and why are you asking for help.. this isnt even your thread?

advise for if you want reliability.... build a nice simple setup.. nothing flashy. find a great tuner that knows honda's..and if he's trust worthy and knows your setup he'll tune it to where you'll be happy.. Without Cracking a sleeve.
