boosted b16 or boosted ls
I'm looking for opinions. I currently have an ls in my hatch that i've been planning on boosting. But today I picked up a complete b16 bottom in for dirt cheap from someone desperate for cash. Do you guys think I should just sell the b16 bottom in and take the profit and invest it in my current setup, or should I sell my ls motor, find a b16 head and swap the b16 for later boost? I can't make up my mind! Im looking at the pros and cons of both. Any and all opinions are welcomed, but tell me the reason for your opinion also!
the b18b head is going to be your limiting factor in higher rpms. depends how much hp you want, and its application....If you're going to be happy with 250-300whp the b18b will get you there with torque dropping off in the top end, but with lots of midrange.
I'd sell the b16 block for a b16 head for ls/vtec or just put the money into a better intake mani and cams.
full b16's have proven to make lots of power...can't go wrong either way, depends what will suit ur goals

Haha a drunk post
. Yea, lsvtec is outta question. It's either b16 or ls. Right now im leaning more towards keeping the ls in, unless the b16 would be alot better. The only advantage I see with the b16 is higher reving. I plan on keeping the motors internally stock either way I go, and probably only going 7-8lbs of boost.

Too much torque on a honda is a bad thing because you won't get traction. Hondas are all top end and the LS head is worthless up top unless you spend a **** load of money on building it up. Go with the B16.

I am currently working with the B16a looking to throw a T3 turbo at it and a couple other things. The main reason why I chose the B16 was because it is seemingly made for the high rev punishment that is typically applied to it. Where as the LS can have issues at high revs unless it is built "properly." From a logical and cost effective point of view, I believe the B16 is the better choice unless you are trying to create a monster (400+ hp). In which case you would find yourself spending a lot.
oh dear good... I didn't realize how old this post was... lol
So how did it go?

the b18 is not made to rev high, so u dont rev it high. whats the big deal.
ure over analysing. A b16 block alone is worth ****. If u do end up getting a b16 head and doing the swap u still wont have the tranny which is like 50% of a b16's allure.
sell the b16 block and put it into ure LS turbo. period.
