Default Boost was fun while it lasted.

I finally got my car turbo setup all done. Checked for leaks, everything checked out except for a little exhaust leak at the downpipe. Set the afc, got on the freeway and punched it in 3rd. Vtec never kicked in. Fuel cut off at 7k rpm. Tried it again and my charge pipe fell off and ran over it on the freeway. Went back and got it and the pipe was bent. Have to wait again for another pipe to made. It was fun for 10 secs.

You should get your pipes C-notched at a muffler shop. They wont fall off in the future.

Get steel braided oil lines if you dont already.. I used a rubber hose for my return line and it expanded after a month and then kinked causing my seals on the turbo to blow. Now im n/a for a while.

I do have steel braided oil lines. Well, I was on the freeway and I heard a clunck, then looked at my side rear view mirror and ran it over. This morning I had to start my car to move it and I notice the check engine light was on. It was code 71 (misfiring in cylinder one). The check engine light didn't come on yesterday. My autometer a/f is reading lean as hell. Yeah, yeah.... autometer a/f is just a light show, but does this mean anything? I did a compression check and it reads 210 across the board. Reset ecu and check engine hasn't come on yet, though I haven't driven it and won't til I get a new pipe.

Hope you did some sort of tunning before you "punched it". next you'll see a rod punch through your block. Becarfull and do it right. Get some T bolt clamps too.

uhh, if you have parts falling off your car within the first day of being boosted...maybe you should have someone who has experience with turbo kits go over your work. It's one thing to blow a charge pipe off one end, but to completely have it drop and run over it....well you obviously didn't clamp either end very well. I am using the cheap clamps that came with my drag kit for 3 years with no pipes being blown off.

Couple questions.
VTEC never switched over, why not? Your boosting with the car not fully warmed up, or is there a problem causing it not to switch over.
So it's an LS/VTEC motor, with fuel cut at 7k rpm?
