Default Is this block useable?

Just looking for opinions for a friend. Original B18C1 bore, rods, pistons, etc. Would be built 81.5mm with LS crank, Eagle rods, and CP pistons. Max goal of 500-530whp on original sleeves. (more than likely E85)

Damage to the block but ironically exactly where the block would have to be notched anyways...Opinions here?

I think that should be fine, just clean up any rough edges with a dremel/sanding.

Although I'm not sure why you need to notch the block? LS crank should be "drop in" to any B18 block provided you're using the right rods and have the right bearing spec.

With the piston all the way down to bottom dead center, does the bottom of the piston touch the scratched part of the cylinder sleeve? It looks like it doesn’t, so it should be alright...

I have built a TON of this combination and have NEVER had to notch the bottom of the block sleeves.

That’s good news! I’ve heard some need it and some don’t.

This was honestly the biggest seller of the B-series for me; not having to notch anything for forgies. Lol
