Were you moving or at a stop? If moving, how much boost were you running?

When my b20 went i threw rod #1 thru the front of the block, haha, i still have the block in my garage. We use it as the ashtray now. From looks of it looks like rod bolt failure, it loosened and sent the rod cap flying.

If your on the freeway at 80 mph and you stepped on it -- I will assume you were in 5th gear.. This is THE hardest gear on your car.. there is SOOOO much load that you; probably cracked a sleeve or jacked up a psiton/rod.. 5th gear lower RPM pulls are a HORRIBLE idea.. Either downshift or go easy on it til the revs are up in 5th gear.. The load put on the motor at low R's in 5ht is CRAZY !!

can someone please explaine this to me some more?
I've heard of it but don't really know the reasoning/physics why it's more load on the motor than a 3rd gear pull
