Default Blaast Performance Turbo Kit?

What's up guys? I'm Just wondering if anyone actually owns the kit they make for the B18b. It looks pretty complete and seems to be a good setup for around 250whp on a stock block. I have researched on ht and other places and all I could find is talk about their turbo rebuild service. They want $2600 for the kit which seems like a good price considering it comes with a basemap and almost everything else you need to get going. I know piecing together a kit may still be somewhat cheaper, I'm just exploring options. I would like to keep ac and ps so it looks like a log manifold is a must. I'll be keeping stock block/head for a while so a small, good spooling turbo is what I want, full spool is said to be at about 3000rpm which revving to ~7200 looks like a good powerband. Any insight on this kit or my setup in general is appreciated. I do research a lot and can also turn a wrench so please do not take this as an annoying newbie inquiry but more of open discussion on what setup is good and reliable for a mid two hundred horse b18b, thanks. good question! I plan on getting my turbo from these guys. Can't beat 480shipped with a 60 day warranty!

Only thing I would look into is the wastegate. I've seen the results of cheap wastegates and excellent wastegates. Cheap ones may or may not perform well...seem's to be a hit or miss, and others such as Tial can have astounding results when compared to SSAC stuff, or any cheap one for that matter.

Everything else looks to be promising, fun, and very streetable. Other than the turbo and fuel upgrades, I bet the kit is able to put out 400whp or so.

Regardless, I wouldn't run anything close to wide open w/ the basemap, but I would drive very conservatively to a tuner or dyno shop. I'll place my bets that this kit holds up to it's word. (Assuming the wastegate and manifold are not total garbage.)

They sell rebuilt turbo's not brand new, i buy my turbo from them and it was the old airresearch rebuild not garrett like they say in the add.
I would go and buy piece by piece with better parts for the same money.

The turbo kit seem nice for a budget and low power.

Curious of your opinions on another decent looking budget kit, the s-fab Stage 1 by 703 Racing: http://www.703racing.com/turbokits.html. I think the cast mani might be better designed and more reliable?

Sounds good, I've seen many cases of 300whp+ stock ls's and as they say it seems to be "all in the tune". I'm going to do a compression and leakdown and if those are good I'll be shooting for 300 also. Still wondering if anyone has a 703 racing kit? I crunched the numbers and it seems your paying the same for the kit that it would cost buying part by part which I think is good. Also looking into a vtec but I'm not sure if stock lsvtec is the most reliable for boost. Any other similar setups or ideas would be great.

Not a bad price for the kit. As long as their products are as good as their price, I'd get it!
