Default Bell Helmets. Need feedback.

I'm in the market for a helmet. Something that will pass tech inspections whether for drag, autocross or road racing. As you can see, drag racing starts to bore me and wanna step up to road racing or autocross.

I came across with this Bell Helmet for $250 and needs feedback how good Bell Helmets are compared to Arai, Simpson, etc...

I'm on a budget so please don't point at any expensive things out there. I would love to get Arai but they just cost a grit.

I wouldnt spend less than that for a good helmet..

I have one for my motorcycle that was 300$...

Bell makes good helmets... and for 250$ it should be a pretty light one too!

Go to ebay.com and do a search for motorcycle helmets. there are a ton of them on there. I would say that about 90% of them are brand new and going at pennies on the dollar. Its usually dealerships unloading thier inventory to make room for the new models. I got a 450.00 Arai brand new for 70.00.

Hold on before you buy a helmet. I'll post you a great site when I get home tonite. They have discontinued Bells at under $100. Most are 95 rated so they are goood for at least 5 more years

are they M rated or SA rated? Becasue I know that to a certain point in drag racing(the faster you go)you can't use motorcycle helmets anymore, you'll need an SA rated helmet

earl. That'd be cool if you can verify if those helmets are Snell approved. The one I posted is actually Snell SA2000 and SFI31.2 approved. Any M approve is out of the question.

OK, check this site http://www.genuineaccessories.com/Closeout/closeout.htm
I bought one there and got it within a couple of days. I believe these helmets are good up to 7.50 seconds and over racecars. Made it thru NHRA and IDRC tech with no problems. I think my Bell was about $80

earl. Those are good prices but unfortunately, they are M95 approve and they are motorcycle helmets. I was leaning towards more on a Snell SA2000 approve for the cheapest price that I can find. It will be used at any form of car racing so it'll be beneficial if I ended up with a SA2000 approve helmet. Thanks though!!

I ended up buying the Bell M2 SA2000 approve helmet. It weighs 3 3/4 lbs. That way, i can use the helmet at any type of car racing.

Here are some pix. Sorry, they're a little blurry.
