Just weld a few dimples on the pipe. Easiest way IMO... if you have a welder handy.

it looks liek that would work, but i'm in an apartment now and i dont have room or the place to have a vise. i also don't have a welder handy

a rough section could work, but i would rather be sure and have beads on the ends, if not to just ease my nerves.

hair spray the end, then clamp down as usual. No joke, it works.

hair spray... how does that hold the couplers on? sounds kinda ghetto to me..

The hair spray doesn't hold the couplers on by itself. It just assists the clamps and adds a lil more so they won't just slip off.

Does it sound ghetto? Well... it is. BUT If I relabel some hair spray and make it "High performance intercooler piping adhesion assistance liquid"...
