b20vtec turbo info?
didnt find that much info for this setup at all in my searches.
i am building a b20vtec motor and am going to leave the bottom end stock.
I plan on running around 5psi on the stock bottom end with a t3super60. the tuning will be with uberdata.
wanted to know if anyone turbo'd one of these setups and any info that they are willing to share. will this last or you think it will blow up? what kind of power on a similar setup?
your $.02 wanted

First off, I'm gonna point out (so the rest of us from IL don't seem as quick to the question w/o "really" looking for the answer
) the fact that you did not search for the information all that well. Try alittle harder next time???? That is my 2 cents
And to offer some actual help. You can boost a stock B20 bottom end, but the sleeves are a different design/material than the other Bseries sleeves. They tend to be less resistant to spiking cylinder pressures and can crack easier than an LS, GSR, ITR engine.
I also think your turbo choice will make a fast responce setup....but is alittle on the small side for a 2.0L engine. It will work but you'll choke out before you really get anywhere. Again this is more opinion based off what I like on a 2.0L engine. I really think a 50trim T3/T4 would be more to your liking. These will spool quickly and make great power when the psi is raised on a 2.0L
Do some more research in the archive posts and you will find what you need

Ahhh, exactly my point. If your experiment was tuned correctly, missing 2nd may not have casued a condition where cylinder pressure spiked/detonation occured. I'm never said that "oh my god if you boost any psi into a B20 the sleeves will be sure to crack" did I?
I'm sure I could set out to crack a GSR, LS, or ITR engine if I put my wallet to it.
Anyways, good luck on the project

This thread is all about turbo stock block b20s, i just spoke to ETOWNDSM he had about 350 whp ran consistent 12's and the only thing that failed were his retainers. I will be boosting my block soon my goal is 300 whp which i beleive is very doable.
This is from his thread.
"Just wanted to post up some numbers from my B20 vtec coupe. Since i know lately there has been a lot of conversation on what these motors can hold. Well let me give you the run down. B20z block, gsr head, skunk 2 intake manifold, double head gasket. Car has a sc 60 with a sfp manifold. Aem tuned by god father of boost with 750 injectors. The head is completely stock as to is the bottom end.
Last sunday we dynoed it and it made 373 whp and 294 ft lbs f torque. The motor is in a 99 ex coupe. Went to E Town on wednesday and after a few driving issues the car ran a 11.92@119. Still has more in it the run before the car went low on gas and studdered up top so i lifted and coasted to a 12.001@104. compared the 2 slips and the 12.0 run was a few thousandths faster the whole way down. The car weighed in at 2644 with me in it with slicks and 17's out back. Not to bad for a coupe but still has more in it well see in the future any questions just ask."
