There isn't a default recipe for power levels that high...
You'll basically need the best of everything...
A serious sleeved bottom end, everything balanced, blue printed, weight matched etc. bigger half inch head studs, o ringed block and head, serious head work... port polish and serious cams possibly even roller rocker vtec killers, a serious intake manifold and a 90mm tb or larger
Also a billet trans case with straight cut dog engagement gears, stronger final and pinion, one hell of an lsd and super serious axles and intermediate shaft. A twin plate clutch at minimum. .. more likely a triple plate, scatter shield, solid motor mounts, a serious oiling system (read: dry sump)
A retarded big fuel system, 8 injectors in the 2000cc range, matching fuel pump, filter, regulator, 10an feed 8 return and a fuel cell is in order or a baffled and sumped stock tank
A standalone ems that's top of the line (aem infinity, motec, vipec, etc) along with a ridiculous ignition system... coil on plug, M&W pro 10 ignition, iridium plugs etc
Stupid huge turbo setup with which an air to water intercooler is basically a must have
Serious cooling system, electric water pump and things like that
Not to mention all of the safety equipment. Roll cage, fire suppression system, legal race seat, harnesses
I know I've left things out but these are the basic requirements
Expect to shell out 20-25,000 to reach that lofty of a power goal... along with lots of doing things over, breaking parts like axles, transmissions and motors. So have spare cash for a contingency plan

It's not as simple as slapping parts together
.the whole bottom end will need meticulous detail in every aspect, better to let a reputable engine shop build it as the tolerances will have to be spot on across each cylinder.
Every component will need to be as clean as possible and assembled in a clean room... you'll have to sweat the little stuff all the time, hell even the kind of oil you use matters
Transmission will have to be a quaife or ppg dog box to even begin to handle the power and the highest quality axle the driveshaftshop makes (only ones to go with for big power)
You'll need a twin plate at minimum and a triple plate preferably to take the torque, abuse and driveline shock
Hell you'll need some serious suspension and chassis work to prevent the motor from ripping the mounts out
Every fluid system will need an external cooler/filter/and pump (trans, engine oil, etc
And why 1000? I hope you know this car will be unable to be street driven. The kind of cams you'll need to run will take an almost 3,000 rpm idle

"Seek and you shall find." So he really just needs to search in the right places. Search in wrong places results more time wasted as well
"Started from the bottom and now we're here." Proof it happened before
Not sure how you figure he wont come close though.
Every dream that is set in motion starts off with a question of one's thoughts. Questioning thoughts causes one to seek answers and if they are determined to find answers they usually will, especially when its already been done.

It's just hard to make that much power and breaking things is a common thing at that power level
Nor will you ever be able to drive that car on any public highway. The torque steer alone will put you in another state

But in his defense we akk started somewhere. Granted though we didn't have such lofty goals
To the OP, what's the fastest car you ever driven? How much horsepower?
Because 1000 on the street, on street tires and pump 93 octane will never happen. The fuel simply won't make it that far

No need for external cooling systems unless hes going to road race it.
That power can be made on Skunk 2 Pro 1 cams, they idle all day around 1000 rpms. It can be done on race gas and 4 2200cc injectors pushed a bit.
Speedfactory's old setup was a prime example. Very simple build, off the shelf parts. Not oversized headstuds. But yes, a stout motor and trans setup is a must. And a good tuner. You can buy the best of everything and let some idiot tune it, and its toast at 500whp.
Turbo wise you're looking at pushing the crap out of a good 67mm, or going with a nice 72mm like precision, borg warner, garrett, etc. Either way they are going to be laggy and disappointing on the street. Need an Intake manifold with some decent volume and a good sized TB. You're looking at running race gas, or Ethanol. If Ethanol, gonna need 8 injectors.
blah blah blah

Yea but he can't just slap parts together and expect 1000hp
I doubt honestly the OP has driven a high horsepower fwd vehicle or rwd for that matter
This whole idea has disaster all over it
