300whp should get you 12's, regardless of your skill. Some people could probably get into the 12's with as little as 250whp, but it's really all about your powerband and how far that torque curve extend's when it comes to making the best times w/ as little HP as needed. I'd start w/ 250whp, then go to the track and do maybe 3 runs w/ street tires, then adjust your tuning/boost and add some ponies until you've come really close or surpass your goal.

If 12's is all you want, assuming solid 12's like 12.7 or better, then I would make power til I got to like 13.1 E.T.'s and from there I would adjust suspension and put time and money into things not related to the motor. This way you can have a reliable setup that is fairly fast at the same time.

you could just bore the B16 to 84mm and stroke it to about 80-83mm and have the displacement of around 1700cc and up

A B-series is a B-series is a B-series. A B17 is a B16 with an 81.4mm stroke, smart guy.

the b17 is VERY fun- my last setup was a built b17 makin 305whp- super fun and super torquey, was prbably in the high to mid 12s range id say...

The b16 clutch will worth on the b17 as will the flywheel and i *think* the oil pan and gidle will too:

the b17 is basically a stroked b16, the block casts are identical the only diff is the b16 carnk and rods (and pistons?) are different giving it the longer stroke

i LOVE my b17, also rare

yes they are all the same in essence but they still have there differences like any honda motor if they were all the same no one would build one

"In Essence" means that 99.9% of all aftermarket parts that will bolt onto a B16 will also bolt onto a B17, making your post suggesting to go with the B16 because of greater aftermarket support rediculous.

my thoughts exactly..

the b17 and b16 are SOOO close to identical its REDICULOUS...

they are essentially the same motor...
and yes... ALMOST anything from a b16 can swap directly to the b17 because of this..

the reason nobody builds them is because they are pretty rare only coming in 2 years of GSR integras, that werent that common to begin with
b16s are all over the place..

Thanks guys
well instead of opening another thread ill just ask my next question.
My Friend has a used turbonetics turbo kit and he will sell me every thing except the turbo for $900. My worry is that the turbo wont fit on the manifold. Since i want to put either a GT28RS or a GT3251E on it. Will these turbos fit on that manifold.
