Default b16a3 block build. Need some inputs. <-----

I have the block and eagle rods right now. I need some input on what else to get for my build. The block i have is bare nothing on it, but it's a super clean block. What other misc. things would i need to make it a complete shortblock also?

Block: B16a3 *
Rods: Eagle H-Beam Rods *
Pistons: Arias/Wiseco? or any other suggestions? Along the lines of 9:1 compression. I heard that SRP's are bad because they expand alot during high heat?

b16 or b17 crankshaft
b16 oil pump/ water pump.
ACL Bearings Kit.

what else am i missing? being that i am a noob to the b-series.

the goal is 300whp.

go with cp pistons...they are the best IMO....stick with the b16 crank, and if you got the money buy sleeves, althought may not be really needed for only 300whp but its extra insurance

yes i've heard good things of CP too doing research here. Those are pretty much my top 3 Wiseco/CP/Arias. Yeah, I thought about sleeving too. Just don't think i could come up with the cash.

i have a 9to1 compression b16 with eagle rods acl bearings and je pistons. i recomend going with 9:5:1 compression. O BTW when the car is cold the pistons make a lot of noise. I Like JE pistons but w.e you want should be fine just dont drop your conpression too much its not neccesary.

You really think he's going to notice a .5:1 difference in compression? Me neither. Your pistons if they're a "9:1" shelf piston are probably more like 8.8:1 or lower, and I bet you'd never even notice the difference between them and some real 9.5:1 pistons. My buddy bought a new B16 motor that was advertised as having wiseco 9:1 pistons, but it had Wiseco's 9:1 pistons for B18C motors and his motor was actually at 7.7:1 compression, and he said didn't even really notice the difference in low end between that and his other B16, which was a stock JDM block with a .080" cometic HG for about 9.2:1 compression, he thought they were both 9:1 and didn't really feel much.
