b16a setup questions, post some pics and dyno sheets
hey guys i have a 92 eg hatch with a b16a 1.6 vtec jdm spec motor with crower rods and pistons built head with type r cams and cam gears, port and polish,titanium valve springs and retainers, cometic gasket, arp studs, type r tranny with quaife differential and lsd, lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch.. skunk 2 short throw, avid shift linkage, aem fuel rail, walbro pump, 750rc injectors, with a t3/t4 hybrid turbo garrett i believe, hks ssq bov, 3 inch full exhaust, tial 38mm wastegate, 10mm wires, ngk plugs, type r intake manifold, precision fmic, drag manifold, and toyo proxies on rotas all around with a full tein coilover setup and sway bars.... i know im forgetting alot!
here are my questions
-what boost is safe to run? im currently at 10- 12psi. can i boost higher or should i go lower?
-what tires will grip the best?
-the rev limiter i think is set weird or maybe its the right way i dont know.. it revs to 9k in first and then only 7-7.5k in every other gear my turbo starts spooling at 55oo and the vtec usually kicks in around 4000 to 4500.. is all this normal or should i have it retuned...? it seems like when the turo starts pulling it kicks out and i have to shift.. which kinda kills the powerband...
- and my steering rack seems a little loose.. what added suspension should i get to stiffen it up a bit, and were should i order from? does anyone have anything maybe i could purchase used in good shape?
- is this a good setup?
im askin these questions because im gonna eventually sell the car...i hate to but im in need of money bad.. and i want to make this thing a perfect ride for someone to drive before i sell it...ive only got on it a couple times other then that i cruise it and its more for a daily driver and maybe a one day track ripper if i turn the boost up.(havent went yet)the cars babied.. my intentions were to have a fun daily thats quick, it got a lil outta hand... but its still fun and the car is clean i will post pics...but please any info would be great.. thanks again guys..
