b16 stock head studs?????
b16, 1st gen talon/eclipse turbo (td04HL)
8 psi
.051mm head gasket, block guard
do i absolutely have to have head studs? for 8 psi? how safe will i be here, dont answer if you dont have experience or know someone thats been safe. i just mean by that, i dont want 20 opinions that come from kids with no turbo experience whatsoever, it makes it harder to discern the good info.
thanks guys

That turbo is way too small for that engine. Look into a good t3/t4 for starters. The td04
will stop being efficient above 6k rpms. Headstuds will be good to have, but no you don't need them. The b16 could easily handle 10psi out of a t3/t4, it's good til about 300hp.

brand new oem headbolts are 70 bucks ish, so what's $30 extra for way more peace of mind/insurance, and you'll be good when you decide to turn it up. That $30 is way less than I bet you paid for a worthless blockguard for the same purpose.
Point being you don't "need" them for your 200-250hp goals, but it's not very logical to not use them.
as for the talon turbo being too small, most people would agree, but it can still be a really fun car on the cheap.
