Default b16 block guard

if i boost a b16a2 with a cp ratio around 9-1, with forged pistons and rods at about 12-15 psi, will a block guard help anything?, are they bad, dont do, or just keep the boost level down lower. thanks!

Default Re: b16 block guard (civicboy96)

block guards are a very touchy subject. many are for and many are against. i put a real golden eagle block guard with the coolant passages in my b16 nitrous. i have never had a problem with them so its up to you. if you do get one make sure it sits down about 1 inch from the top of the sleeve and that it is level. as for the set up now. 15 lbs is nothing really to be afraid of as long as you GET TUNED. im sure everyone is with me on the whole tuning thing. thats where its all at. good luck
