b16 to b18 swap
Would it be hard to swap 1 b18 into my 2000 si? I was just ready the post about the dart block, with the linkin it. I went to the link and they dont have a b16 and i was thinking since this is my only car why not just build a whole new block and swap engines. Would this be worth it (dont count in the money) i mean if i blow the engin i have one to put back in
I want to run a turbo and run low 13's to mid 12's, but have mad top end to smote anything on the highway.

Tranny is a striaght forward swap, all thought all B series trannies mounted up to all B series motor (some using all bolts and others not) .Could be wrong though. I would also like to know what is invovled with the swap as I will be doing it this summer.
I'll help you. Ok you can do the swap it will be a straight drop in nothing required........but Yur si tranny gears are extremly short and when your on the highway at a normal cruise you'll be riding at 4-5000 rpm's which is not fun. I would put the ls tranny in if you plan on running trubo. You caould use the b16 tranny and put the ls 5th gear then you'l be ok on the highway but it will drop the rpm's about 2 grand. Also with the turbo the gears will be shorter than you have ever seen. Just stick the whole ls including tranny in you'll be fine, unless you have a GSR tranny you can use. That would be a good deal.

Kind of a general question, but to answer it in a nut shell yes the b18b will drop right into your Si. Can't beat a motor you can pick up in a junkyard for less than 600 bucks and make over 250whp and torque to boot
