Average egt's at idle

Average egt's at idle
What are everybody's egt's at idle? More of a is my gauge working right question. Thanks. I searched and it's all the same, is this too high?!?!

Damn, my gauge may be f'd up, I'm only getting 500F or so, a/f at 15 to 15.5, aem wideband. my probe is mounted in the internal gate hole in my d/p 5 bolt flange.

Well the placement of the probe will have alot to do with what temps you read. Seeing as the turbo is a fairly large heat sink, the placement of your probe isn't exactly ideal which explains your variation.

Where you mount your probe has great effect since the manifold and turbo is a big heat sink.
People say about 200F is a good approximate temp drop if you mount it on the DP flange. Mine is 800F, yours is 500F+200F so it's about 700F if you want to be on the same benchmark with people's opinion (cause most mount it 1.5" from head)
