Default AVC-R duty cycle calculation

I was bored in class today and was trying to figure out exactly how to figure out what the duty cycle needs to be if you don't use the learn cycle. I've never seen anyone really explain how to set it up other than messing with it till it works, or just put it in learn mode lol. If this is wrong and there is an actual way of figuring it out lemme know, i was just bored.

the AVC-R reads boost in kg/cm^3, most waste gates read in bar, and most of us know psi, so things tend to get fuzzy but fear not!

1 bar = 14.5psi
1 kg/cm^3 ~ 14.2psi

so say you have a .5 bar (8psi) spring from tial, that should read about .56kg/cm^3 on the AVC-R

you want to run 10psi (.68ish bar) or .70 kg/cm^3 on the AVC-R

i figured that Duty Cycle = Boost Setting / Spring Rate x 100%

~ ( .7 / .56 ) x 100% = 125%

that means the wastegate is working at 125% of the spring rate. I assumed this ment the AVC-R has to make up for the extra 25%

i went out and checked my learn mode setting and it's set between 23-24% the whole way.

So by setting the desired boost (.7 kg/cm^3) and 25% duty cycle it's pretty damn close

if anyone else can give some insight on this jump in please

im not real good at math calculations. but when i was using my avcr, at around 15psi and up i was at 54% to 58% duty cycle

That doesn't hold true for mine dane, I run 15 psi on a 6.53psi spring and my duty
is around 50-54. 15/6.53x100=229.7%. That would be like saying my duty would
have to be 129 to reach max boost and that doesn't hold true. Anyone else with
input?

i have a 7lb spring in my wg. I use 64% duty at 1.0bar target to hit 1.1 bar.

Not sure if that helps lol

mike you always gotta mess things up for me lol

but i also converted mine to kg/cm^3 you did yours in psi (still works out to teh same number lol)

damnit this thing is bothering me now

but 50-54% ~ a little more than double the 6.54psi is around 15psi
