OK here is the deal. Autometer EGT gauge isn't too bad... but their probes SUCK. What I'd recommend is that you purchase the autometer EGT gauge w/out probe. Then call up TRE (http://www.teamrip.com) and order up one of their bomb fast acting EGT probes. By far the only way to go about an EGT gauge these days.
to TRE EGT Probes.
*EDIT* Fat Fingered the URL... try that.

Re: (Unsung EM1)
autometers are ok in my opinion and you can't beat the price. But of course they are a little low end. next time around i'll be going greddy, apexi, maybe even the badass defi link system setup.

yea i mean i dont need anything thats accurate down to the thousandth degree or whatever but enough to give a general idea......... im not gonna boost more than 7-8 psi but i just want to have a warning meter to tune around............ some ppl say its better than a wideband in some cases........

the autometer+TRE probe is a good combo
but an autometer gauge is like what? $130?
so thats $130+$45 for the TRE probe
why not just get a greddy for $150?, thats a fast accurate gauge

My dodge buddies run WesTach EGT gauges.... $42 for the gauge, $4 more if you want a light bulb with it, and $37 for the probe... its not the prettiest thing, but it works, and works well... Its actually made for aircraft... If you want accurate & lowbuck, thats exactly what you want...

the autometer full sweep (gauge and probe are about $125-150), but you can get just the gauge (about $90-110).

i look at most professional sanctioning bodies, well us any way, most nascar, nhra teams all run autometer. i have had no problems with their instruments in the 9 years i have been driving.

Re: (Kwuaymaikrup)
I purchased an autometer EGT and street tuned with it. I watched the temps and adjusted the fuel via the afc hack. I installed my tech edge wideband kit yesterday and under WOT, my fuel was 11.7-12.0 across the board. I'm happy with the autometer.

my autometer egt gauge from summit broke in <1year. I bought the cheaper one. I think its just the probe though so im going to try and replace that first before i replace the whole thing.

Re: (S03Burner)
just a fyi, the autometer gauges that the top dawgs use like NHRA, IRDA, whatever...don't use the same, cheap *** autometer gauges that we buy in stores for like 30-40 dollars. They use very good ones, probably liquid filled, that are VERY accurate and more expensive than off the shelf stuff.
Don't get me wrong, I have a couple autometer gauges for like boost and air/fuel (light show) but i got greddy for oil press and egt cause I know they work better.

ummm no.. I know many circle track guys... They all run off the shelf autometers... Some guys run the Lunar Series, some run the Carbon Fibers, some run Ultra lites... Some run the regular, some run the Glycerine filled gauges... Its all personal preference, but they are the same gauges you buy...
