Default Autometer boost gauge using vacuum hose instead of nylon??

hey guys im about to hook up my autometer sport comp boost gauge, but i read somewhere that you can use vacuum hose (3/8 and 1/8) instead of that hard nylon that they supply. They also said it would be much more responsive and even had a video of a silver sport comp gauge with the mod, I think it may have been a link to a scooby forum. Does anyone have a pic of how to hook this up?

I don't see how it could be more responsive. You would think that the hardline would expand a lot less than the rubber vacuum stuff. Interesting topic though. I would also like to know.

I remmber the thread, I did it on my boost gauage... Don't know if it made any difference, but atleast I could use just a normal vacum line.

I used a peice of like 3/8" or so line about 4" long clamped over the brass fitting on the back of the gauge. The got one of those vacum reducers down to normal vacum line size and then ran it to the IM.

I think the therory was to make some kind of chamber, becuase some people were having problems with the gauge responding solwly or something.

Like I said not sure if it's any better or any worse, but it works normal non the less...

awesome, thanks for the writeup, so just a 3/8, a normal line, clamps, and a reducer?
