Automatic and Turbo
I need to know if its ok to have a Turbo with a Automatic Transmission. its gonna be on my d16 engine. Im going to be getting this kit http://www.hopupracing.com/grtukittdhoc.html so i need to know if the tranny can handle it. Im trying to be able to run atleast 7psi on the engine and i dont want to have to swap the transmission.

The main view is that you shouldn't really race Honda's w/ automatic transmissions, the gearing generally isn't all that great and neither are the trannys. But, from what i've heard, automatics feel like they were made for turbo's. i think you'd be fine with low boost if it's just a fun car, not a serious racer.

Re: (mrbigg9032)
2k isnt worth it for 70 whp, think about it especially on such a little engine with a titanic automatic transmission. I wouldnt do it, I had a civic with a auto trans, swapped it for a manual for more money, put a turbo, head etc. for a lot more money. How much did I spend for a extra 90 whp, I feel like a idiot for ever going through that experience 10 years ago. Dont do it
