that would only open during full boost.... what about the rest of the powerband?

It wouldn't matter in most applications.

Kinda stupid if you ask me. It would be better to run a QTP so you spool faster rather than just lose restriction once you're there .

im not experienced with e-cutouts. what are the advantage to them? i relize you could run a stock looking muffler and then have the ecutout open at full throttle... is this correct?

I doubt the lag time would be that bad to hinder spool-up.

Most e-cutouts are activated by the user's toggle switch.

Wouldn't it close in between shifts? Woundn't that make it more prone to break faster?

I would guess so.

Edit: Would it just open once it sees 1 psi of boost or what?

I think the idea would be to hook up a solenoid inline with the vac line so you would have control over when it actually opened.

you can hook up a boost controller to it too, so that it doesnt open at all, or it opens at X psi..

looks like a good unit, I wonder if the actuator is set for a certain psi or if you can adjust it. I've heard that the electric ones have a lot of problems, like the electric motor failing....and this gets rid of that problem

the people saying this is stupid and a ecutout would work better obviously dunno ****

e-cutout open vs closed, it like running 2 completely different setups, therfore needing 2 completely different maps if you want the car to run decent, so either your gonna be tuned with the ecutout closed, or open, so it will either run like **** when its open cuz you are tuned when its closed, or vice versa.

with the atp cutout, its proportinate to your VAC, runs off the same basis as your wastegate, therfore the results are reproducible, meaning it can be tuned properly, normal driving it probably doesnt open, but when u go WOT, it would open up, which is perfect, atleast thats the theory, i dont see why it wouldnt work, its identical to a wastegate setup.

yeah i have a 2.5-3" open downpipe and YEAH!! lol it does sounda really ******* mean. Sounds like a diesel. But i've heard problems with the cutouts too. I'd rather run this than a cutout. Looks a lot more reliable. Also he's right, you'll only need 1 tune.
