Apexi Turbo Timer Questionz Please
I just got my Apexi Turbo Timer and got some questions
It says I have to splice the black ground wire INTO the ECU GROUND WIRE..
does it HAVE TO be the ECU ground wire?? or any ground wire??
It should be the same, right?
Also, it says, splice the white wire into the O2 sensor wire from the ECU..
I can just splice this wire into my A/F ratio gauge signal wire, right??
Please let me know
thanks

i believe the documantations actually specifies that u SHOULD use the ecu ground wire.. if you read number 5 of the instructions its says
"When not using the o2 sensor... connect the ground wire connector to the chassis"
and yes ur o2 sensor is the same wire as ur a/f gauge wire

i would go by what the directions tell ya to do... i do know for a fact that the o2 sensor wire wont make a difference if you use the one from the sensor or the one from the ecu... but apparently (according to the instructions from apexi) the ground has to be the one from the ecu... make sure when you do your install that you take the time to make sure that all of your connections are good, some times those vamp clamps dont make a good connection and you will be kicking yourself later if you gotta go back and double check everything.. (it happened to me, i ended up going back and soldering everything) works great now...
need help? let me know.

yes the apexi turbo time also features a a/f read out..
i think the reason for using the ground from the ecu instead of the chassis is because you must ground the o2 sensor with its own ground wire... just like the map sensor has its own ground wire.. so the o2 sensor's ground is connected to the ecu ground..or you wont get an correct reading..i'm no expert but apexi is so I'd fallow their directions..

yes, thanksso much LordVtec
i will let u know if i run into any problems
i installed a greddy turbo timer before, i had no problems, but that timer broke down on me..
that's why i bought apexi with a bit more features
