Anything? I'm contemplating an investment in an ems/tuning solution (yet again) and neptune seemed promising but it's still not out. anyone heard anything new on it?
I'm also interested on the release.
Here's a thread from a little while back

I'd like to know as well because I haven't even started on my turbo setup yet.I'm planning on using crome so far but if neptune comes out soon I'll look into it.
what do u mean if neptune is out yet...from what i know there only a few neptune tuners around...unless you mean out for public usage Neptune is availble all you have to pay for the license fee
i tried vafc hack, hondata s200, crome pro, and now running on Neptuned tuned by Andy from Speed Element

Its been that statement and "just waiting on the firmware [manufacturer]" since what, October? I know that they want a perfect product upon release, but based on my background and the statistics I know, they could be testing & refining for an additional year and still not catch all the issues. What seperates good companies from bad companies [that release a buggy product] is how long they allow a problem to exist before acknowleding it/fixing it. That and how upfront they are with their current & future customers.
I wouldn't blame them if their initial release had some teething issues, but the software is already supposed to be 'clean', and the hardware isn't exactly a PS3 - its just hardware that carries code that it shares [and also has to protect] with an ecu designed in the late 80's. I'm sorry if people think my veiws are somewhat inflamatory, but I'm fairly sure I won't list neptune as one of my future options any more.
I've seen many times before where a company, no matter what good intentions they had, ends up alienating their user base by making promises they can't follow through with. In most cases, they use time & silence as a stall tactic to prevent users from jumping ship.

I don't think HRTuning has made any claims as to when the RTP version would be available.

Unfortunately even though the hardware is in what we expect to be final print, the firmware has not been completed by the developer. It's not about teething issues, though I'd love to avoid those as well, it's about having all of the features completed and working. I am unforuntately not developing the firmware myself because of the situation with the hardware developer and I can't expect someone else to put in 16+ hour days to follow my dream. I'd love to give you all a date and I will as soon as I'm satisfied that the date I am given will be the real one. I have new posts on the web site that I have not published yet, but will very shortly. Sorry to keep you all waiting here, but you're forgetting that I am patiently waiting as well and I'm in this until the end.

No, they went out of their way to say 'hold on, its done when its done'. I just wouldn't want one of the best RTP EMS's for the buck become vaporware. As much as I love waiting and waiting, you can certainly understand why someone about to upgrade ems's soon would be anxious.
