Anyone using BEGI or Cartech adj. fuel pressure regulators??
This is from my other non-Honda car, boosted Miata. Just curious if anyone's had experience with these units.
Mine is the kind that works off vacuum and you can adjust base pressure and rising rate. Problem is, I have a lean situation at low boost. It goes lean for a split second when go into boost at low rpms, then at 4k rpms when ecu goes into closed loop, A/F goes rich. Base pressure is set according to spec, and fp rises quickly with boost, but my A/F gauge doesn't behave the same as my buddy's Civic EX turbo at low boost. His goes into rich even at 1psi. He's got one of those Vortec units at 12:1 (6psi boost).
Comments ?

Can you guys shed some light on the problems you're referring to? This thing has worked fine for my last 15k miles at 6psi. Now that I'm up to 8psi, would like any tips experiences on tuning it.

I don't know exactly what part# mine is, it came with the BEGI 4 kits available http://www.flyinmiata.com/store/prod...loc=3&updept=1
I followed the instructions that came with the kit http://www.flyinmiata.com/support/default.asp
Everything works as expected, I just have to tune in a little more base pressure to alleviate the lean tip in situation. I'm still trying to understand what kinds of problems you guys were having with these units. Mine was the latest model to come out in March 2001. That's the best I can tell ya.
EDIT: Boost is set to 8psi. Base fp is set to 54psi (directions recommend 50). Full boost fp is 98-100psi.
