Default Anyone with a turbo DC2?

My friend has a turbo integra. If he wants to have his bumper open for better flow for the intercooler, how can he do this. I heard that if you CUT the supports in the middle, the bumper will sag and look like ****. He wants to keep the OEM look or as close to OEM as possible.
I can't remember if there's an OEM bumper with the middle completely open, maybe the USDM ITR bumper. I've seen pictures of turbo integras with this part open, so I know it's possible.
PS -> If you didn't already know, this is for a 99 2 dr Integra (94-01).

What intercooler is your buddy using? Are you just trying to cut the black plastic piece out of the middle? You can do that without any sagging. The USDM ITR bumper is the same as any other Integra from the same year, except that it includes the lip, which makes no difference.

The intercooler came with an HKS turbo kit as part of a kit. It is a double core intercooler, I think Spearco or HKS if they make it. Are you sure that the bottom of the bumper won't sag at all if the supports are cut? I thought they were there to keep the top part firmly attached to the bottom part, but I have seen numerous Integras where it does seem like it's been cut.

I had to cut mine, but I also have no sagging. I'm using the precision 600hp intercooler btw.

Here's a pic of my old setup! The new setup should be spanking Skylines and Silvias soon. I'm glad JDM Teg's do not have the bumper support that needs to be removed .

Old is on the top. New is, of course, on the bottom. The old cost me $150 and I sold it to buy the new one for $200.

Mine is about a 28" Spearco cooler. I cut the bumper and the lip just a touch to expose more of the core.

Thanks tony, not I just gotta throw in that block and make it as fast as yours. . .

BTW, the first intercooler (spearco 20x8x3) I left the bumper on and used that to mount it. No bumper sag.

The second (current) setup, I removed the bumper, and just bolted the IC dircetly to the radiator support (using the brackets on the bottom). Agian, no bumper cover sag.

That metal piece is not there to keep the bumper cover from sagging, it is there to protect your car in an accident. . . .

The white Integ looks like the bumper is sagging a bit in the middle (not that bad yet).
Do any of you run at the local dragstrip without the front bumper?
