Anyone running GT3082R ?
i have this turbo on hand. just seeing what others have done with it.. im thinkin about puttin this sucker to use. after measuring up the wheels/looking on garrett's turbo chart. this damn thing seems like a bastard turbo. kinda mix matched..although im not turbo expert so i dont know how well it may or may not do.
thanks for any information you guys may (or may not) have
here's a few pic's (this is a forced performance version)
installed (haha not quite)

Re: Anyone running GT3082R ? (dturbocivic)
The GT3082R is another name for the GT3040R. Some love it, others don't. It's rather an interesting combination of turbine/compressor wheels. I won't say whether it is "great" or not, because it depends upon ones taste and use of the unit, so don't be suprised if these opinions are subjective. I've used it successfully in some projects, and not so successful in others. Most here will simply scream GT35R and be done with it. Again, subjective.
Turbine - Same as the GT3076R
-Wheel: 60mm w/ 84 trim
in either a .63/.82/1.01/1.05A/R.
Compressor - Same used in the GT35R/SC61/GT40/GT35E
-Wheel: 82mm w/ 56 trim
-Housing: .70 ar
The turbo is capable of about 575whp on a honda VTEC B-series engine.
Looks like the one you have uses an FP steel turbine housing for the 44mm v-band.

thanks Shodan.
after i posted this thread i decided to search(haha go figure )
i came across an older thread by "muckman" with some info/dynocharts.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1545133&page=1
seems like a pretty decent turbo, seems to make somewhat early torque, and hold steady. although i would imagine this turbo would get "worse" on a bigger engine or a higher reving engine. as in power torque being somewhat "peaky" and then falling off soon after.
judging from that thread alone, the turbo seems alittle better than i thought..
but like you said.. why not just go straight 35r. with the bigger turbine, it should have much more capability.

Im not a big fan of the 3082 anymore. In my opinion its a mismatch of wheels. Your going to max out the turbine's flow before you can take full advantage of the larger compressor. So whats the point? Your just going to suffer more lag with little to no increase in power. Perhaps a larger displacement, lower rpm motor could benefit from this turbo. But I think you can get a more efficient setup from a 3076.

Have one on my H22 - 92 hatch. Currently making 465 whp @ 16 psi. Rev the engine to 8500 rpms. Torque curve is flat. Engine makes 348 wtq. Very streetable car with little lag.

yeah, i was pretty set on a gt3076R for my setup but theshodan had suggested a 3040R or even a BW256...choices choices LOL

I made 349whp with a .7 bar wastegate spring on a gt3076r. It recovers boost quick which I really like for a turbo capable of pushing 550whp. In the next few weeks I should have some peak pump numbers and a race tune. I'll post the graphs when i get them.
