anyone runnin synapse top mount
so im buildin a piston and rod gsr motor shootin for 450+hp, its almost done and now im movin on to the next step. Im a little new when it comes to turbos, so I decited to go with a kit to try to keep it simple, im tryin to decide what kit to go with, so far im lookin at these two kits,
the peakboost top mount with gt3076r
http://cheapturbo.stores.yahoo.net/pebtokit.html
and the synapse top mount with the gt3076r
http://www.synapseturbo.com/mm...folds
Im lookin for a top mount that is power steering compatable, and these are the first two that I have found. I know that lots of ppl are usin the peakboost kits with good results, but is anyone out there runnin one of these synapse kits? I really like the v band manifold, but it seems like no one else is really makin a manifold like this, I was just wondering about the advantages and drawbacks to this design?
Also feel free to suggest a different route that I may have overlooked
Thank you for your time
Jeff
edit: peakboost is not p/s compatable

Re: anyone runnin synapse top mount (JRSC01GS-R)
advantage is being able to have 360* movement instead of one fixed location. (on synapse)
drawl backs? never used it so i have no clue lol
Just speak to both business' and get a feel on what they have to offer. Also find out what the turn around is, just in case you may expect it in 2 weeks after purchase and end up with 2 months of possible wait time.

Re: anyone runnin synapse top mount (blinx9900)
ive seen both synapse and peakboost manifolds in person and i have to admit i dont think you can go wrong with either, although the peakboost manifold did strike me as being a little skimpy on the fill rod with some of the welds...

Re: anyone runnin synapse top mount (blackeg)
so i emailed both peakboost and synapse yesterday, I got a reply from synapse yesterday, they said 3-4 weeks for delivery and that the 44mm wastegate is standard
I havnt heard from peakboost yet, but I have decided on the synapse kit and will post pics and results when it comes

You wont be disappointed
Sorry if there was any confusion there was a typo yesterday. It originally said 38mm wastegate on the webpage, but the kit does in fact come with a 44mm wastegate standard.
Thanks everyone else for the good words about our products

Do you have any pictures of that manifold in the car with powersteering installed? Also, do you plan to make a kit with the topmount v-band?

a little confused here. the link above is our complete top mount turbo kit for the tial v band housings.
unfortunately i dont think we have any pictures of the manifold together with the power steering components installed, but it was test fitted on ryan's car who works here for proper fitment with power steering. hes going to be running the manifold this season for his new setup.
well you can see the p/s components sitting next to it lol.

thanks, we have fabricated 3 different collectors styles for the 30/35r size tial flanges. shorter and longer ones for different applications.

Wow, I'm out of it. I checked your site a few weeks ago when you made the post in the fab section and didn't see it then. Good to hear there is a full kit
Are there coolant lines included in the kit?

coolant lines are included with the kit. i think we only had the manifold listed at that time since then the kit was added.

I would get the synapse kit if i had to chose.....there is no reason why you cant make a manifold and be compatible with a t3 hotside and not use p/s. From what ive seen on ht.com the synapse has nicer welds......and im all about that son!
Hey Synapse let me see some close up shots of that v band header if you dont mind.

Could you tell more/show the different collectors and what type of application each would be better suited for?

the different sizes are mostly due to space contraints on different motors/chassis, so far we have made v band manifolds for the b series, k series, 2rz tacoma motor, 3sgte, sr20det, 4g63 motors. the shorter collectors has a wider angle on the merge than the longer ones.
