i've done it BUT it didnt last too long cause of the surfaces not being flat... also calculating the compresssion drop wasent that big of a difference. the metal head gaskets you buy from the parts store are made specifically for mounting them between the HEAD and BLOCK nothing else!! You can do it but it's costly about 40 bucks a gasket, and i know it's not going to last, so how much is mr gaskets stackable one again??

mr. gasket's are 124.95$ which is to much in my book... how much does your compression go up with a mini me swap?

What kinda of mini-me are you making?

A non-VTEC D16 + 92-95 1.6L SOHC VTEC head = 10.6:1-ish compression
A non-VTEC D16 + 96-00 1.6L SOHC VTEC head = 11.0:1-ish compression

A non-VTEC D15 + 92-95 1.6L SOHC VTEC head = 10.8:1-ish compression
A non-VTEC D15 + 96-00 1.6L SOHC VTEC head = 11.2:1-ish compression

Sorry buddy, the compression is high on mini-me swaps. Thats what makes them nice. The combustion chambers are different on the VTEC heads than the non-VTEC heads.

Oh and BTW. I've got a mini-me in my daily beater CRX, so i'm not talking out of my *** too much.

These numbers are way off. Those numbers could be true if the setup use alturnate pistons such as the A6 and the A1 pistons.

Does it really matter?

d16's are like the special olympics... even if you win, you're still retarded.

Save up your $$$ for a bseries
FYI, I am going DOHC. But I'm not throwing my D-series away, cuz it's going into my side beater. SOHC parts are cheap and some parts are innerchangable with the B-series. For $1500 you can make a D-series faster than a stock B16 with I/H/E. Plus you won't have to pamper it like the $6,000 custom B-series motor, therefore you can drive it more wreckless and have more fun with it.

What part on a d-series, that is worth more than $100, is interchangable with a b-series? And dont say turbo cuz that doesnt count

What can you put ona d-series for $1500? a turbokit? Your motor cant handle very much unless u crack it open, in which case the b16 would own you price wise. Why **** away any money on that motor at all? Just put it all towards y our b16.
I can build a SOHC vtec for under a grand that will spank a B16 with bolt-ons.

D16Y8 complete motor: $400
LS pistons and rings: $200
GSR TB: $40

The list goes on, and the parts are cheap. You can rev the **** out of it, drive like you stole it, and if you blows...who cares, it's only $200 for a new block.
