Default anyone else had this problem?

I have an LS with a Drag III setup with inline and fmu running 12:1. The car runs very rich when it is running normal (Idle about 800 or so,air/fuel not scanning, and plugs are black after just a short distance). Sometimes the idle will kick up to about 1800 or so and the air/fuel begins scanning and driving for only a few miles the plugs clear right up and look great. The idle seems to kick up at random and I can get it to kick down by revving it quick and letting it fall to idle.

When the car idles normal (800 rpm's or so) it "lopes" a little and I put it under a timing light and the timing is constantly changing. I assume the computer is doing it. Has anyone else had anything else like this happen with their LS? I will take any suggestions

You're too rich at idle and part throttle... Mine did the same thing, but I just dialed the fuel back on my computer. You need to check and see what your fuel pressure is at idle... Might want to drop it a bit. Also, short the 2 prong plug above the ECU when you check timing. The ECU will always adjust timing at idle to stabalize it. If you short the plug, you will get a constant reading. (It won't f up anything to short that plug out... that's how you read proper timing.)

If this is a new setup, make sure you haven't put the FMU lines on backwards. A friend did that and he basically had no fuel going back to his tank... Was running stupid high pressure at idle.

The FMU is hooked up properly I know that is not the problem. I have played with fuel pressure and that is not it. I have the fuel pressure set at 35 right now and I even dialed it down way below that and I still had the same problem
