Default Anyone driving on open cutout or DP?

How tolerable is it in stop and go traffic or light crusing on the highway?

The only time I didnt drive with my 3in cut out open is when I was going to be driving with a girl on the freeway for a long period of time. I hated driving with the cut out closed. I loved my cut out. The only way to drive a boosted car - open downpipe FTW!!! BTW I was never bothered by cops in my area about how loud it was.... The smell, well I got used to the smell and I would only get a whiff of it every once in a while. Do it, you'll love it!

I was hoping a few people would say its tolerable, I might just have to get an e-cutout, I just hate to add another electrical device to my car to worry about, and cutout motors are already notrious for failing.

I am selling my 3" Thermal and I am going to be running Open DP, I plan on extending the DP past the Shifter and then turning it down slightly.... I just gutted the back half of my car in prep for the 8 point, so how much worse can it get with an open DP.

Open downpipe is LOUD, if you plan on either daily driving or anything close to that stick with an exhaust.

I made a 120 miles trip with 3 inch open downpipe and damn, i had to find some paper to plug my damn ear 20 miles into the trip. You'll be deaf

I run open DP on my Supra. It gets annoying cruising on the highway with the top off. Other then that you get used to it.

Like I said crusing around town isnt an issue or even short freeway trips (less then 10 min) but anything longer it just becomes a drone and you cant hear yourself think. It also depends on throttle position as well. Depending on where I was throttle position wise, it wasnt as bad crusing on the freeway. It all boils down to what you like/dislike. Give it a shot and let us know what you think!

For those of you who run open dp... are there any exhaust related issues to the bottom of your car from the heat of the fumes?

save money and use a big Ford Throttle body. then u have the best of both worlds: loud when ure on Killer mode, or nic eand quiet when cops are around. I live in SOCAL and they wont tolerate that kinda noise.
