I had a bone stock b20b jdm version with less then 10,000 miles w/7 psi , 280 injector, and a fmu and stock ecu, with the fpsi at 80. and it was strong as hell . went to palmdale and ran a 13.6 with no tuning ... i loved it... i first turbo setup and the next day some one lacked my **** .....

but ya b20 turbos are hella fun !!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my b20vtec boostin around 10-12psi. Never knocked. (I logged a lot in the AEM ems). Was running strong for my t3/t4 (12.6@115mph)@10-12psi. But when i removed the head (spun a rod bearing), i saw all the sleeve cracked. They were cracked where they join on the other cylinder. The car was still running fine and never overheated...
So becareful with b20 sleeves.

My friend ran his for a while at 8psi on a large turbo with a shitty fmu setup no problems. He ran a 12.7 in it too.

You could easily see the close to the same power w/ a d series and save money but there is a certain BLING factor with a b20, i guess

HP wise, maybe the D can keep up, but TRQ wise I doubt it.

combined with the fact that it was a stock block with a relatively mild tune.. ive seen people have to tune the **** out of a d to get high numbers, not to mention dohc heads flow better to begin with

TRUE but i meant with the price of the swap and the turbo goodies the d could keep up, for reference my friend had a boosted b20 on 8psi in an ek hatch, i had a boosted y8 in an ek coupe and i pulled him every time, but both of our cars were street tuned by the butt dyno. (he blew his motor long before i blew mine)

if you say so, dont get me wrong im not hating on the b20 at all. I'm just saying that dollar for dollar, you might be able to get the same hp from a d-series,

Im currently running 15psi on my stock B20 equipped CRX with turboedit. It pulls like a beast. The best Ive ran in it is a 13.1@113 with street tires @ 14psi with a 2.35 60ft still spinning in second. Its a great setup n I love it, top end is siiiiiick. PM if you have any questions.

$ for $ I dought that any D-series(1.6 single cam) could keep up with a B-series(1.8 DOHC)

i had my stock b20/vtec boosted and that **** was strong as hell. dont have any numbers but i can tell you that switching from a boosted D to a boosted B was the best decision i ever made.

.....until i overboosted (15-16psi ) and cracked ringlands on my #3. sleeves were cool. replaced the piston put it back together but i sold all my turbo **** and im all motor now.

....i suck
